Summary

A guide to Aventurian tongues

Garethi: Probably the most frequently spoken language in Aventuria and knows many dialects. It is spoken in almost the whole northern half of Aventuria (except for the Orkland and some isolated elven tribes.)

Thorwallian is a nothern dialect and is automaticly known at one level worse than Garethi.
Bosporano is the old form of Garethi and defaults to it at -2 comprehension levels.

Old-Goldlandian is the ancient tongue of the first Goldlandian colonists that landed on Aventuria's west coast.
Isdira is the native tongue of the elves.

Ancient Isdira is the old form of Isdira and defaults at -2 comprehension levels.

Rogolan is the dwarves naitive tongue.

Angram is ancient dwarvish and defaults to it at -1 comprehension level.

Tulamidia is spoken by the desert-dwelling tribes in the south.

Ancestral Tulamidya defaults to Tulamidia at -2 comprehension levels.

Alaanii is spoken by the Norbardian tribes in the north.
Nivesian is spoken by the Nivesian tribes in the north.
Moha is the tongue of woodpeople.
Zelemja is spoken in the southern swamps.
Orkian/Ogrian is spoken by Orks and Ogres
Goblinian is only spoken by some backwater Goblin tribes most Goblins know it as well as Garethi (both at broken or accented level).
Trollian is the Troll language. It's "written" by arranging heaps of rocks in patterns.
Lizardtongue is spoken by the lizardmen.
Drachisch is the tongue of the dragons and only learnable if some form of telepathy is available.
Koboldian is spoken by kobolds and unpronounceable without some way of accelarating the tongue (the greate haste spell is fine).
Zhayad an arcane tongue used by Wizards. Some see it as the supreme mean to record the true names of demons.
Nanduria is a script used mostly by scholars. No spoken form exists.
Atak is a sign language of aventurian beggars. There is no written form and it prerequisits a minimum of manual dexterity (no way to learn it if you are hamfisted)
Foxian is the tongue of thieves. It has no written form.
