Jenny Everywhere
.
Summary

Jenny Everywhere is the only known "open-source" super-hero - i.e. anybody can use her in their comics or stories for free. You can even publish comics about her and make money off of it without paying royalties. Just remember this ...

The character of Jenny Everywhere is available for use by anyone, with only one condition. This paragraph must be included in any publication involving Jenny Everywhere, in order that others may use this property as they wish. All rights reversed.

Her creators describe her as so ...

Jenny Everywhere is a Shifter. She exists in all dimensions at once. She has the accumulated wisdom of all her other selves, and she can potentially shape or change dimensional properties. Her powers basically allow her to have wildly diverging storylines without having to worry about continuity. Her powers aren't the reason for the story, they're the means to get to the story. Since she exists everywhere at the same time, you should have no trouble throwing her into any situation you choose, be it riding dinosaurs in the Wild West or arm wrestling Richard Nixon on the moon. For the Shifter, any adventure is possible.

She has short, dark hair. She usually wears aviation goggles on top of her head and a scarf around her neck. Otherwise, she dresses in comfortable clothes. She is average size and has a good body image. She has loads of confidence and charisma. She appears to be Asian or Native American. She has a ready smile.

Some people may want to explore her powers further. Keep in mind that your story does not have to showcase any overt uses of her powers at all. In fact, though her powers may be put to use in a fair number of ways, the concept behind Jenny is that she prefers to get out of dangerous situations without the use of these powers. She thrives on the thrill and always plays fair, even if it brings her close to death.

So how does this fit into GURPS Infinite Worlds?

First, there can be no specific "Jenny Everywhere" character. Rather, she is a Package.

"JENNY EVERYWHERE" TEMPLATE (18 points)

Advantages
Disadvantages
Quirks

A Jenny Everywhere should have no drastic Mental Disadvantages that interfere with her self-image. Add whatever points are required for gender and racial distinctions in the campaign world.

The Cultural Adaptability and Unfazable Advantages are derived from her constant subconscious contacts with the infinte numbers of her alternative selves. Deep down, she belongs everywhere and has done everything, so not fitting in or being surprised is quite alien to her. Any being who Mind-Probes to her subconscious should get a nasty jolt!

In addition, being Jenny Everywhere qualifies her for any Unusual Background without needing any other explanation. Somewhere in infinity, some version of Jenny is a sorceror, a jet pilot, a sword-swinging barbarian, a Space-Armor Commando, a fry cook - you name it. This has the potential to make a godlike character ... or a charismatic fry cook.

The truth is, the majority of Jenny Everywheres are just normal girls. Not all of them realize their power or potential, and not all of them can tap into it. Many can travel between dimensions or through time, but others haven't been able to do it yet. A lot of Jenny Everywheres end up wandering the universes at random. The more godlike ones do not live in realms where normal people can interact with them. The ones that do interact with humanity are, at some level, just plain girls (albeit very charismatic and self-assured "plain girls").

The GM and player should decide how much access each Jenny Everywhere has to her infinite potential. Is she Intuitive? Precognitive? Does she have her own space-time vehicle or is she a Jumper? Or is she stuck where/when she is? Does she have any exotic abilities, like Super-Luck? Cosmic Modular Powers? Extra Lives? Are there six or seven of her at one time or just one? Do Spirit Lords owe her favors or is she just a pickpocket? She can be described in exacting detail or left as a series of Modular Abilities ... or both at once

In an Infinite Worlds campaign, she will be well-represented in the files of all crossworld agencies. In fact, it's possible that Infinity, Centrum, the Cabal, and the Armanean Order might ALL have a Jenny Everywhere on their staffs, and locked in their labs - at the same time!

A suitable campaign use could be a new Jenny Everywhere coming into her power, learning about alternate worlds and her place in them. Another use could be as a deus ex machina, to get the PC's out of (or into) trouble. Or the characters might be responsible for the particularly horrid demise of a Jenny Everywhere, getting ALL the Jenny Everywheres mad at them! (Everywhere you go a small woman in a flying helmet and scarf tries to murder you, whether you're in 1990's New York or Imperial Rome. Finally, you go to the Cretaceous ... only to find a velociraptor in a flying helmet and a scarf bearing down on you ...)
