What would be most valuable is if someone would list a few skills here!
Like maybe Language Talent = 10 points
So, if we gave credit, couldn't we list every skill that's ever been published in a GURPS book?
Allright... breaking the ice on skills...

Linguistics-3, or the Language in question -4 |
The ability to fill in the missing bits from a partially overheard conversation, a tattered manuscript, or a partially decoded message. Not helpful without context, and no study of the theory of words. Appropriate modifiers include fluency in the language in question, quantity/quality of the available words vs. the missing ones. I.E. Just hearing "Hello there, ... leave room for 5 minutes... and I'll see you later." won't work. But "Hello muffled Sven, muffled on my muffled but my battery is low. I muffled a letter muffled desk, so keep muffled out for it, and muffled you later." would probably be relatively normal difficulty, with level of success determining how much of the missing parts are heard. Exact words might not be gotten, but certainly basic gist of message is gotten with success. Critical Success gets exact wording, Critical Failure can be quite amusing, or downright dangerous. "If you muffled the lion he'll let you walk right by..." |
| Ignorance is Bliss |
Will/A |
Will-4, or Meditation-2 |
Sometimes it's better to forget something. This is the ability to banish a thought or memory from conscious thought without "thinking of the white elephant" or actually forgetting the ... what were we talking about again? Penalties/Bonuses for every -5 of disadvantage related to it, or for particularly pressing or inoccuous thoughts. Note that this conveys no ability to resist a disadvantage. This just keeps someone else from realizing you're thinking about it or affected by it if they try to read you either through interrogation or more esoteric means. |
