Kathy currently works as a Pre-School teacher, while continuing to work on her dream of becoming a Romance writer. She does considerable research for her bodice rippers, unfortunately, the sheets her research is written on aren't the type which get published.

She also has significant skill in self-defense, both armed and unarmed. Bad things sometimes happen to non-adventurers, she's not too badly traumatized by her past and she's currently leading a normal life. She has had to defend herself before, and is somewhat afraid she might need to do so gain. However, the next time she gets assaulted she may be armed.

Of course, she may still hesitate to use her gun, if she has it with her, until it's too late, but even as a non-adventurer there's still the possibility that she may fight back.
