Contributing to GURPS Wiki doesn't mean that you should just start editing away and damage the existing pages. But it does mean that we welcome responsible participation. And it's pretty safe because FlexWiki keeps a copy of every version of a page and it's easy to revert to an earlier version if you make a mistake.

If you'd like to try this yourself, the best page to play around on is the Play Page. It is considered impolite to edit other pages with "testing" or "blah blah" type comments, as people monitoring the wiki are notified of every change. There are usually 3 scenarii when it comes to visitors on GURPS Wiki:

I'm just looking for info, I'm in a hurry: not everybody has the time to write a page for this website. Especially if it's about some complex rules problem! However, if you find something you think is wrong or unbalanced, or if you feel there's something missing somewhere, it's just a matter of seconds for you to edit that page and add a note that will notify regular contributors that there's something to be done. Really, it's easy: click on the "Edit" link on the left menu, and type "Note: " followed by a few words describing what we should correct (here's an Example Of A Note you can edit in order to see how it's done). That's all!

I've got some time, I want to contribute: then head over to the Contributors Page right away! There you'll find guidelines on how to post, what to post, and where to post it. You'll also find a list of things to do, most of the time notes from other contributors or casual visitors (see previous paragraph).

I want to add my stuff here: the Contributors Page is also for you. Beside those guidelines we mentioned above, it lists a few of the things you can add to your text in order to make it better integrated into GURPS Wiki.
