Rules need clarifications, and complex rules need them even more. This section contains the most frequently asked questions regarding the rules of GURPS, 4th Edition. If you have question about gameplay, you should check the RealityChecks page, where these kind of concerns might be answered.
The official GURPSFourthEdition FAQ can be found at http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/faq/. You may post questions on the SteveJacksonGamesForums, where Kromm might answer them. EllieTheTechnomancer also roams those boards.
Another good, but unofficial, place for GURPS 3rd edition is the Krommnotes website, located at: http://www.krommnotes.org
This is listed next to the official GURPS FAQ because it's a compendium of Kromm comments about GURPS, which are really almost official statements!
The unofficial FAQ lies here, where you may add questions yourself - others will hopefully add the answers. The main difference, here, is that answers can be extended at will, and may even be clarified further on specific pages.

Q: How do I format my question?
A: There, like this!
An excellent resource for people with combat rules questions is our SampleCombat page. Be sure to check this out.
Q: What is a turn? How does several characters' turns flow together?
A: A turn is a one second span during which your character can do one or more maneuvers.
There is a bit of a mix up between the player's turn and the character's turn, however. The player's turn is really the time during which he says what his character is doing, rolls for it, etc. It ends when the GM moves on to the next player in the turn sequence. The character's turn starts when the player's turn starts, but ends when the next turn (player's turn!) start - it means that a character's turn lasts for a full second. This is better illustrated with the following diagram.
We have 3 characters (Fred, Mary, and Bill).
<----TURN---->
<--1 second-->
<----FRED----><----FRED----><----FRED---->
<----MARY----><----MARY----><----MARY---->
<----BILL----><----BILL----><----BILL---->
As you see, Fred's turn lasts one second, but overlaps the other characters' turns because they all act within one second. It's just that they do so in an order depending on how fast they are.
