A note about third edition updates to fourth edition

You can submit updates to GURPSThirdEdition material for GURPSFourthEdition on GURPSWiki. However, you must be aware that SteveJacksonGames retains the ownership of such material. If they ever publish the official updates in a sourcebook, it will obviously look a lot like what you posted here. SteveJacksonGames won't owe anything to you, as you based your work on their stuff in the first place (both the original material and GURPSFourthEdition!). Posting updated material for GURPSFourthEdition is therefore something you'll do for free, without getting any rights on it except the right to rejoice for giving the community some useful and valuable stuff.

There are some legal things every contributor should keep in mind before posting on GURPSWiki. SteveJacksonGames has an online policy that you should read (at least a bit!).

You must also keep in mind that everything about GURPS and other such things as InfiniteWorlds or TranshumanSpace are the intellectual property of SteveJacksonGames. The same goes for other intellectual properties such as licensed worlds or games which are frequently used in GameSystemConversions, for example. Everytime you post material belonging to somebody else, make sure you get their approval. If, on the other hand, you own the intellectual rights over something you've seen on this website, and for which you didn't give your approval, you can contact LordAbdul or THONA.

The legal status of original contributed material is void, though. As this website is run by the community, anyone can expand or modify some material posted by somebody else (for example, an original universe, a character, etc.). Everything belongs to nobody. When we get some authentication features on this Wiki, we'll be able to protect some topics (they will require a valid login) and allow a person or a group of persons to be the only authors for a specific number of pages. Until then, it's all open.
